Family is one of the most precious gifts in the world... however it is very easy to get caught up in all the routines of daily life and forget to let them know just how much they mean to you. So here is one of my resolutions to keep in touch... seeing as i'm becoming absolutely useless at individual email and updates ... i've decided to post general updates on here. These posts are likely to be quite scattered and random... just the way i think them onto the page :P
Today is one of those chilly days, where the sun is streaming through the clouds yet the city is wrapped with a spine curling chill, well maybe that's a bit over dramatic but yeah nah the temperature fluctuated between 6-16 degrees celsius all day. Currently I'm on holiday... for the next eight weeks. I've finished first semester of second year and quite enjoyed it... found it far more relevant that first year subjects, and it gave us a better idea of what we were likely to end up facing in the practice of social work. Also currently on the hunt for a new part time job... Hopefully one that is more related to social work... LET THE HUNT BEGIN...
Dad was here most of last week... And is now in New South Wales for a couple of weeks. He will be back soon and will have a couple of weeks here in Melbourne before heading back to India.
I however spent the weekend at work on Friday, then a sleep over at my friends Jame's and Jake's house (Jake and James are twins) in Burwood, we had a whole lot of us over to watch the movies we'd made on our previous adventures. So Laura (also known as: Brackabear), Laura-o (aka: gypsy-o), Andy monk (aka: monkey), Jess, James (aka: Jimmy james docking), James (aka: Jimmy-o), Jake, Lochy and my self hung out to catch up, play games and watch the recordings that gypsy-o edited into a movie :P ... and finally got 2 bed at 5am :P and got to sleep in till 11:30 in the morning... funn times.
Then saturday i spent a couple hours at home with Dad and Nini (my li'll cousin Anika), before dad drove me over to the Philip's house for a birthday party. The Philips are Sunny and Katrina Philip, they used to work in Vellore before so some of you might know them. I went to school with their kids, Their son Joshi was in my class and their oldest daughter Mary-Anne was in my dorm, and Sara-Emily is Ruthy's age... Joshi is embarking on travels in a few days... he goes to Yemen to hang out with Russel, then to India to Hebron as an IG for six months. His 21st birthday happens to fall while he's away (21st are a big thing here.. calls for big celebrations) ... so yeah had a big bollywood themed 21st celebration at his house.. then stayed over at their place as the party only got over by 4:00 am. and we managed to catch a wink of sleep before rising EARLY to be at church the next morning for Sara-Emily's baptism. It was good to hang out with their family again, and for those who know their extended family ... they are all keeping well. And Ma Aunty Jalleja ( their aunt the one that used to be a nurse in ODC) says Hi [ :P ].
Had church again that evening at my church.
At church we are currently going through a series on series on Relationships and sexuality, these are topics that aren't commonly talked about at churches, but are important topics... for there are many christian youth out there who are not sure about what to feel about these issues. My church is a small community focused church, and the night service is aimed at the youth, where we are actively involved in the worship and service. So yeah part of the service we have various christian leaders over 6 weeks come and take about various subtopics under those main topics and we have open discussions on what we feel and what they are talking about. Its been a very challenging topic for many, but it is precious how willing everyone in the congregation is willing to be open about their own experiences and opinions and are incredibly supportive towards each other. It is something i really value about being part of the Kew community.
Also this week i have to sort out gym memberships stuff and continue job hunting.. yeye. It feels so good to be on holiday. And know that it is ok to be away on adventures now cause there isn't going to be a large dusty pile of homework waiting for me at home :P ok i'll stop here for today.. and leave u with my scattered thoughts :P ....
hope uz have a good day/ week... till next time...
Xx HUGS xX
